We remain focused on building international inbound and inter-European travel, which grew nearly 7% in the first quarter compared to the same period, 2024.

Overall, travel demand played out largely as we expected in the first quarter. Taking into account calendar shifts, demand remained solid, primarily due to leisure activity.

On our last call, we talked about returning travel from country to country. Once again, we are seeing improvements with inter-European cross-border travel, which is up in mid-double digits compared to last year. Additionally, our international inbound volume showed significant strength compared to last year.

Europe continues to be a popular destination for cross-border travel, and our reservations show this strength.

We believe travel demand will continue to be strong and we will continue to mitigate costs with technology and actions in our field locations.

As I stated on our last call, we had our summer season for the record books, and when you have a significant peak, you can sometimes see a drop that follows. But this has not been the case, as October and Christmas were the busiest on record as well. It is apparent to us that consumers are traveling and choosing our brands and there is no reason to expect this to change.

Going forward, as I mentioned, travel in general is strong and we are expecting demand to grow as well with the course of this year.

October, you would say, well, why would that be the busiest? Well, it has the biggest impact of both commercial and leisure in any given month. Commercial because there's a lot of business travel, a lot of conventions. Leisure because fall getaways and And like I said, some combination of both, which I think is incredibly powerful. You have a person who goes on a business trip to a city, and we saw the cities start to develop bigger and bigger books of business last year than we had in the past. So he goes on a business trip to a city and then takes in a weekend football game or something. I mean, we've seen that combination of commercial that leads to leisure. And I do think that's pretty powerful when it comes to rental and rental demand.

And I think the overall demand, my last comment, the macro stuff surrounding demand, you know, TSA volume has been up. If you look at TSA volume for the whole year, it was kind of flat to 19 until you got to the fourth quarter, and then it came up. And then, you know, what are the airlines talking about now or, you know, travel in general? Well, the amount of seats that are going to be available in the first quarter and the second quarter that they're showing going into various destinations are up between 4% and 5%. So the demand economics are good.

Europe is more threatened than the rental car industry. We saw smaller domestic operators build fleet inventory in what we all assumed would be a record summer. However, what we saw in the third quarter was unprecedented travel disruptions with labor strikes and flight cancellations, civil disruptions and protests in key markets, and perhaps more importantly, a dour economic environment with high energy prices, surging borrowing costs, and waning export demand, all negatively impacting European consumer confidence and spending.
